Fiona — Original Rottweiler Colored Pencil Portrait | 9 x 12
SOFTNESS DOESN’T ALWAYS LOOK THE WAY WE EXPECT.
Fiona is an original colored-pencil portrait created to challenge the stereotypes often placed on certain dog breeds.
Rottweilers are powerful dogs. Their size, strength, and appearance can sometimes cause them to be labeled as intimidating or aggressive before anyone has the opportunity to know the individual dog behind the breed.
With Fiona, I wanted to show something different.
I wanted to show the soft side.
The crown was intentionally placed against Fiona's strong appearance to create an unexpected contrast—transforming the image people may associate with a "tough" breed into something gentle, playful, and almost regal.
MORE THAN A BREED
A dog's appearance doesn't define its personality.
Neither does its breed.
Fiona was created around the idea that the stereotypes attached to dogs are exactly that—stereotypes. Behind a muscular body, broad head, or intimidating appearance can be an affectionate, goofy, loyal, gentle companion.
This portrait asks you to look past the exterior and see the individual.
Because every dog deserves to be seen for who they are—not what they're assumed to be.
ORIGINAL COLORED-PENCIL ARTWORK
Fiona was drawn entirely by hand in colored pencil, with individual layers used to build the deep black coat, warm markings, expressive eyes, tongue, nose, and fine details throughout the portrait.
This listing is for the original artwork—not a print or reproduction.

STRONG. SOFT. BOTH CAN BE TRUE.
Fiona celebrates the dogs who are judged before they're known and the people who understand that a breed cannot tell you everything about the animal standing in front of you.
The crown may catch your attention first.
But look at her face.
That's Fiona. 👑
