Welcome Spring! — Original Hummingbird Colored Pencil Artwork | 11 × 14

A LITTLE MOMENT THAT FEELS LIKE SPRING. 🌸

Welcome Spring! is an original 11 × 14 colored-pencil artwork celebrating one of my favorite signs of a new season—the return of color, flowers, and the tiny visitors that come with them.

The piece captures a hummingbird suspended in flight as it reaches toward a brilliant orange flower. Its vibrant greens and subtle golden tones contrast against the warm petals, creating a simple, intimate moment between bird and bloom.

It is my way of capturing that feeling when winter begins to disappear and suddenly everything feels alive again.

SMALL MOMENTS. BIG BEAUTY.

Hummingbirds are tiny, fast, and incredibly easy to miss.

That's part of what makes seeing one feel so special.

With Welcome Spring!, I wanted to freeze one of those fleeting moments—the wings in motion, the bird hovering effortlessly, and its beak just reaching the flower.

It's a celebration of the small details in nature that remind us to slow down long enough to notice them.

ORIGINAL COLORED-PENCIL ARTWORK

Welcome Spring! was created entirely by hand in colored pencil, with individual layers used to build the hummingbird's feathers, delicate wing details, iridescent greens and the rich orange and red tones of the flower.

This listing is for the original artwork—not a print or reproduction.
